The 10th Grade English Department would like to offer your child an opportunity to work on a special project.This project is a result of their Writing Benchmark scores, which for your child was a 16 or higher, a passing score of which 20 is the highest.We feel that your child would be able to take their writing skills to the next level by participating in the project.The group would operate independently of the classroom two or three days a week in the media center.
The project will be headed up by the four 10th grade teachers (Ms. Barringer, Ms. Thompson, Mrs. Williams, Ms. Latta) and Mrs. Adams-Caskie, our Media Specialist.The project will count as a major project grade and will include the following components.The students will
purchase a copy of the book which group will read.
work in groups of three to four and read a piece of classic literature, keep a response journal and participate in a book club;
present to the class
